Six finalists took part in the Final National Selection Competition, held on February 15, 1964, at the studio of the YLE television company in Helsinki . The winner was selected by a jury of 10 people and experts.

At the contest

At the Eurovision Song Contest on March 21 in Copenhagen , the song “Laiskotellen” scored 9 points (3 points each from Denmark, Norway and the UK) and took 7th place (out of 16). Finland gave 5 points to a participant from Italy. [one]
