Geography
The village is located near the Polish-Slovak border, 6 km from the Senkovy , 12 km from Gorlice and 110 km from Krakow . The Malastowka River flows through the village.
On the territory of Malastów there is a ski resort “SkiPark Magura na Magurze Małastowskiej”. Several tourist hiking trails pass through the village.
History
The first evidence of the village dates back to 1440. In 1785, 310 Lemko and 13 Jews lived in Malastuva. In the second half of the 30s of the 20th century, 1946 Lemko lived in Malastow [1] , 61 Poles and 32 Jews.
After the Second World War , a detachment of UPA acted in the vicinity of the village. In 1946–1947, most of the villagers were resettled during Operation Vistula to the western territories of Poland. In 1958, several dozen Lemkova families returned to the village. In 1978, 25 Lemkov families lived in the village.
