Biography

Pearson served in the army during World War II, then graduated from Harvard [5] . He worked as a correspondent for Time and Life magazines before selling his first screenplay for television. Since 1958, he worked in Hollywood, first as a screenwriter, and then as a screenwriter for television series ( Naked City , Route 66 ). He co-wrote the scripts for several famous films, including Kat Ballou and Cold-blooded Luke , both of which were nominated for an Oscar. The script for the film Dog Midday brought him an Oscar figurine in 1976.

Pearson made several famous films for television, including Dirty Pictures and The Conspiracy .

Pearson was president of the Screenwriters Guild of America, Western Branch (WGAW) from 1981-1983 and again from 1993-1995, and also president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2001-2005.

Pearson was married three times, had two children [6] . He died on July 22, 2012 at his Los Angeles home as a result of a short illness.
