Stanislav Golsky ( Polish: Stanisław Golski , d. 1612 ) - military leader of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth , Russian governor (from 1603), Podolsky (from 1599), Castelian of Galicia (from 1594), elder and lordichsky.

Biography

As the captain of the royal army, Stanislav Golsky took part in the Russian-Polish war of 1577-1582 . After that he served in the quartz army in Podolia , taking part in battles with the Tatars.

In order to ensure the defense of the Commonwealth from the Tatars in 1583, the great crown chancellor Jan Zamoysky sent Stanislav Golsky with the embassy to the sovereign of Wallachia Michnes II . In 1595, Stanislav Golsky participated in the campaign of Jan Zamoysky to Moldova , as a result of which Jeremiah the Grave was seated on the Moldovan throne. In 1597, he was part of an embassy sent to the Ottoman Empire .

In 1605, Stanislav Golsky bought Podgaytsy and Kozova from Nikolai Volsky , making her his residence. During the years of Rokosh Zebrzydowski, he held the side of King Sigismund III , in the battle of Guzov, together with Jan Potocki, commanded a banner in the center of the royal army.

In 1607 - 1611, Stanislav Golsky toured France, England, Spain and Italy. Upon returning to his homeland, he commanded the crown army instead of the sick Stanislav Zholkevsky , rebuilt the Chortkovsky castle , destroyed by the Tatars in 1610 .

Stanislav Golsky was buried in the church of St. Stanislav of the Dominican monastery in Chortkiv , built on his donation.

Family and Children

Stanislav Golsky was married twice. The first time he married Katerina Buchatskaya-Tvorovsky, granddaughter of Jan Buchatsky-Tvorovsky [1] ; the marriage was childless. The second time he married Anna Pototsky, the daughter of Andrei Pototsky, the subordinate Podolsk and Kamenetsky Kastelian; the marriage was also childless.
