History

MAI Sports Club was founded in 1930. Among other sports, 11x11 handball was cultivated.

The club has been participating in the USSR Championship since the first draw in 1955/56.

In 1960, MAI was the champion of the USSR, and in 1959 and 1961 - a silver medalist

He has been participating in the 7x7 Handball Championship of the USSR since the first championship, which began in 1962. The club 7 times (1965, 1968, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1974, 1975) was the champion of the USSR, 7 times (1969, 1973, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980) silver and once (1987) - the bronze medalist of the championship USSR .

In 1972/73, the MAI became the winner of the Champions League , and the next year lost in the final.

In 1976/77 he became the owner of the Cup Winners Cup .
