Kayte Lauren Christensen ( born November 16, 1980) is an American professional basketball player who played for the Phoenix Mercury , Houston Comets and Chicago Skye at the Women's National Basketball Association . She also worked as a commentator on the ESPNU channel.

Professional career

Kristensen was chosen by the Phoenix Mercury Club in the 2002 All-Union National Bank of Afghanistan draft pick in the third round under the general number 40 ^[1] . In her first four seasons at VNBA, she averaged 3.8 points per game and made 2.9 assists. In the debut season for Mercury, its percentage of sales of shots was 50.5%, which was the second indicator among all newcomers. On March 24, 2006, she moved to Houston Comets, but on May 16, the team refused her services. A month later, she returned to Mercury, for which she played another 6 games ^[2] ^[3] .

At the end of the 2006 season, Christensen became a free agent and in March 2007 signed a contract with Chicago Sky. In the new team, she went on the court in 23 games, scoring only 48 points. In 2008, she was fired from the team, as she missed the start of the season due to a back injury ^[4] ^[5] .

Personal life

On September 22, 2014, Christenson was arrested in California for drunk driving . ^[6]
