Salary income

Wage income - one of the categories of income of the Russian state . Wage incomes were those incomes that could be entered into a certain salary and collected in a pre-determined amount mandatory for payers. Wage income arose from the fees that the government set to cover the costs of the new state needs: the need to set up army units armed with firearms caused the collection of food money ; Collected gunpowder ( saltpeter ) money was collected for the purchase of gunpowder ;

In the first half of the 17th century, all of these numerous salary taxes were consolidated into three large salaries - data money , half- moon and term money. The names of salaries themselves in the XVII century have long lost their former meaning. This money began to be collected even at the time of the Tatar yoke in tribute to the khan , the polonyanichnye money was first collected from time to time, and then constantly for the redemption of prisoners taken away by the Crimeans and Kazan Tatars. Dues were called those charges that were established under Tsar Ivan the Terrible from those cities and counties where self-government was introduced and the feeding of governors and volostel was canceled.

In 1681 , salary fees were even more rounded and reduced into two categories according to the classes. The townspeople and the entire commercial and industrial population had to pay archery money , and the peasants - pit and polonyanichny money .
