Being completely hearing impaired, V. G. Dmitriev spent his whole life translating into Russian the masterpieces of French poetry. He translated, in particular, the famous poet Eugene Potier , the author of The International , the famous proletarian anthem. Translations were published in the publishing house " Fiction " as part of various anthologies ("French Poetry. Century XIX" (M., 1985), etc.). Many translations of V. G. Dmitriev are particularly clean and smooth.
As a literary critic V. G. Dmitriev, he studied the pseudonyms for a long time. Among his books, widely known to the reader, are “Hiding their Name: From the History of Anonymous and Pseudonyms” (1970, 1977), “Disguised Literature” (1973), and “Coined Names (Stories about Pseudonyms)” (1986).
