History
The temple was built in the 18th century and was originally Greek Catholic. In 1927, when during the Tylyavsky schism the majority of the inhabitants of the village of Volovets converted to Orthodoxy , the church belonged to the Greek Catholic minority. After the Second World War, most of the villagers were resettled during the Vistula operation in western Poland, and the temple was used by a local agricultural enterprise as a shepherd and barn. In 1958, part of the expelled Lemkas returned to the village and the church was transferred to the Orthodox community.
In 1964, the temple was renovated, during which the old presbytery was completely dismantled and a new one was built in its place four years later.
January 29, 1987 the temple was entered into the register of architectural monuments of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship (No. A-476 [2] ).
