Evmen Kirillovich Lukasevich ( Ukrainian Єvmen Lukasevich ; December 26, 1871 , village of Belaya Chertkovsky district in Galichyn (now Chortkivskyi district , Ternopil region , Ukraine ) - December 20, 1929 , Warsaw ) - Ukrainian political figure, diplomat , journalist , physician , the publisher . The author of the first Ukrainian "Anatomical Dictionary".

Biography

He received medical education at the universities of Lviv , Vienna and Zurich .

In 1905, in Kharkov, he received confirmation of the right to practice medicine in the Russian Empire. He settled in Kiev , worked as a therapist and epidemiologist .

He was a member of the Ukrainian Scientific Society. In 1917-1918, E. Lukasevich was one of the initiators of the creation of the Ukrainian medical organization, including the Ukrainian Red Cross .

In 1917, at the 1st Regional Medical and Sanitary Congress, he was elected deputy chairman of the All-Ukrainian Union of Ukrainian Doctors and editor of the journal Ukrainian Medical News. In April 1918, at the constituent congress of the Ukrainian Red Cross, he was elected its co-chair (together with B. Matyushenko and V. Nalivaiko).

From January 1918 to April 1918 he was director of the Department of Health of the Ukrainian People's Republic .

From the end of 1918 until mid-1919 - the head of the diplomatic mission of the Ukrainian state , later the UPR in Switzerland .

In 1920 - Minister of Foreign Affairs in the emigrant government of V. Prokopovich .

In exile until his death in 1929, he lived in Warsaw. He published the newspaper Ukrainian Tribune (1921) and the first Ukrainian medical journal Ukrainian Medical News.

In 1926 he prepared and published the Anatomical Dictionary.
