Biography
Alessandro was born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 28, 1972. The father of the future actor is the famous political scientist Pietro Salvatore Nivola, his grandfather is the sculptor Konstantino Nivola . In addition to Italian, Alessandro has German and Jewish roots.
Nivola graduated from Phillips Academy in Exeter and holds a diploma from Yale University .
Career
Not having time to graduate from the university, Alessandro already made his debut on the stage.
After college, Nivola began his career on Broadway, playing the role of the young lover of the heroine Helen Mirren in the play "A Month in the Country" (1995). In 1996, Sandro appeared in the NBC mini-series based on Daniela Steel 's book The Ring. In the same year, Nivola got a role in the acclaimed action film “Without a Face”, where he played the schizophrenic paranoid, the younger brother of the character Nicolas Cage .

Nivola’s career in cinema developed gradually, without sharp ups and downs. Despite a number of interesting and notable film works, the image of the scandalous football player Gavin Harris in the sports drama “Goal!” (2005) and its continuation brought him real popularity. In 2008, Alessandro starred as Dr. Paul Faulkner in the horror film Eye (a remake of the Hong Kong film of the same name ), where Jessica Alba became his partner. In 2009, he played in the sensational and successful biographical drama Ann Fontaine about the life of Coco Chanel with Audrey Tautou .

Personal life
Since January 3, 2003 he is married to the famous British actress Emily Mortimer . The couple has two children (son and daughter).
