Polkanovit is a very rare mineral of rhodium from the class of arsenides . It belongs to the type of "sulfur compounds and their analogues." It crystallizes in hexagonal syngony. The chemical composition is expressed by the formula Rh 12 As 7 . It was first discovered in placers of the Miass River in the South Urals in 1998. The authors of the discovery are S. N. Britvin, N. S. Rudashevsky, A. N. Bogdanova, D. K. Shcherbachev. Named in honor of Academician Yuri Alexandrovich Polkanov (born 1935), Ukraine. [1] .
