Biography

Father - Viktor Mikhailovich Chkhikvadze , Soviet lawyer, corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences.

Graduated from MGIMO, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR (1969). At diplomatic work since 1969.

  • 1969 - 1973 - An employee of the Embassy of the USSR in Colombia .
  • 1976 - 1979 - An employee of the Embassy of the USSR in Angola .
  • 1987 - 1989 - Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of Personnel and Educational Institutions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR.
  • 1990 - 1996 - Consul General of the USSR, Russia in Barcelona ( Spain ).
  • 1996 - 1998 - Head of the Department of Social and Material Development of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
  • 1999 - 2000 - Director of the Information Support Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • August 12, 2000 - March 29, 2005 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Chile [1] [2] .
  • 2005 - 2008 - Director of the Security Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
  • May 5, 2008 - October 1, 2013 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Lithuania [3] [4] .

He is an honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts , the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences , the Academy of Security, Defense and Law and Order .

Family

Married, has three children.
