The flag was approved on June 27, 2012 by the decision of the Council of People's Deputies of the Strelitsy urban settlement No. 154 [1] and on July 2, 2012 it was entered in the State Heraldry Register of the Russian Federation with assignment of registration number 7785 [2] .
Description
“A rectangular double-sided panel of blue color with a ratio of width to length 2: 3, with an oblique cross of yellow color inscribed in the corners of the panel (with a shoulder width of 1/4 of the width of the panel). In the center of the cloth on top of the cross there are two crossed white overturned picks on raspberry-colored shafts, and on top of that is a raspberry-colored arrow with a white tip down and white plumage. ”
Justification of Symbols
The flag of Strelitsky urban settlement reflects historical, cultural, socio-economic, national and other local traditions.
The arrow is a half-vowel symbol of the name of the settlement. According to Professor V.P. Zagorovsky , the origin of the name of the village is connected with the word “arrow”, because at the place where the village is now located, there was a log, the external shape of which resembled an arrow. An arrow is a symbol of striving to achieve a goal. An arrow lowered tip down, a symbol of penetration into the depths of the earth.
Two crossed pickaxes - symbolize the main industrial potential of the settlement - the extraction of refractory clays and other minerals (sandstone, sand, red clay, etc.).
The combination of the golden cross on the azure panel is an allegory of rich bowels (gold) and four ponds formed on the site of the quarries.
Blue color (light blue ) is a symbol of exalted aspirations, sincerity, devotion, rebirth.
Yellow color ( gold ) is a symbol of the highest value, greatness, wealth, and harvest.
Raspberry color ( purple ) - a symbol of power, fame, honor, noble origin, antiquity.
White color ( silver ) is a symbol of purity, openness, divine wisdom, reconciliation.
