Andrei Gennadevich Lisitsyn-Svetlanov (born October 15, 1951 , Moscow ) is a Russian lawyer and specialist in the field of private international law and civil procedure . Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the Department of Social Sciences (Law) since May 29, 2008 , full member ( academician ) of the Russian Academy of Sciences since December 22, 2011 .

Biography

In 1973 he graduated from the Law Faculty of Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov . Graduate student of the Institute of Geophysics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1973-1976), under the guidance of Professor M. M. Boguslavsky, defended his thesis “Consideration of disputes in the field of international industrial, scientific and technical cooperation” (1977). He consistently held the positions of Junior, Senior Researcher, Head of Sector, Head of the Center, Deputy Director of IHP.

In 1986 - 1987 he studied at the School of Law at Columbia University and received a master 's degree in law (LL.M). Doctor of Law (2002, thesis "Modern Trends in the Development of the International Civil Procedure").

From March 2004 to February 2017 - Director of the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences .

Head of the Department of Private and Public Law of GAUGN , Professor. He gives lectures on private and civil law at RUDN University , MGIMO , Moscow State Law University and the Moscow School of Economics at Moscow State University . Member of the councils for the defense of doctoral dissertations .

Chairman of the editorial board of the State and Law journal and the editorial board of Trud IGP RAS, member of the editorial board of the journal Vestnik Rossiiskoi Akademii Nauk (since 2018). Co-Chair of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on problems of protection and development of competition, member of the Bureau of the Department of Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Bureau of the Scientific and Publishing Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Council for Work with Foreign Members of the Russian Academy of Sciences and compatriots living abroad; Deputy Chairman of the Commission on the Charter of the Russian Academy of Sciences, also a member of the academic commissions on intellectual property and nanotechnology. Member of the Presidential Council for Science, Technology and Education (2008-2012).

Arbitrator of the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the RF CCI . He was elected arbitrator of the Arbitration Court of the International Chamber of Commerce ( Paris ), the Permanent Arbitration Court in The Hague and the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. Repeatedly acted as an expert in the courts of the USA , Italy , Great Britain . Member of the International Academy of Comparative Law.

He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Center for Problem Analysis and Public Administration Design. Member of the Executive Committee of the Russian Association of International Law and the Central Council of the Autonomous Republic of South Africa.

Senior partner of the law firm "YUST" (Moscow Bar Association). The first lawyer in recent history is a full member of the Academy of Sciences [1] .

Member of the Public Council [2] under the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation .

Scientific Results

The author of over 80 scientific papers; prepared 7 candidates of sciences. He was the first among Russian researchers to systematically disclose the content and mechanism of interaction between various national private law systems, and determine the importance of procedural law institutions for the operation of international private law [3] . The studies revealed trends in the development of the international civil process in Russia and abroad.

He participated in the development of a number of alternative court procedures for the settlement of disputes in the field of international private law relations. He also deals with the problems of intellectual property and legal regulation of foreign investments .
