Amblyomma aureolatum (lat.) - a species of ticks from the family Ixodidae . South America : Argentina , Brazil , Paraguay , Suriname , Uruguay , French Guiana . Medium sized ticks (3-5 mm). Coxae I-III with 2 spurs, coxae IV with one spur. Parasitize on mammals , mainly from the canine family and other representatives of the predatory order. Early stages of development are also found in birds and rodents . There are known cases of human infection [1] [2] . Rickettsia carriers Rickettsia bellii [3] .
