History
On July 1, 1962, the Kingdom of Burundi was declared independent. Diplomatic relations between the Holy See and the Kingdom of Burundi were established on February 11, 1963 . The apostolic nunciature in Burundi was established on a permanent basis on February 11, 1963, a log of " Christianae veritatis " by Pope John XXIII . Archbishop Vito Roberti was appointed the first Apostolic Nuncio in Burundi.
