Dorsoventral anatomy

Anatomy of the dorsoventral and isolate leaf - a term from botany . If the palisade parenchyma is located on one side of the leaf plate , and spongy on the other, then the leaf is called dorsoventral, that is, having a distinct dorsal and ventral side . They are characteristic of most plants. In xerophytes and leaves growing at an acute angle to the stem, palisade tissue is often located on both sides of the leaf, and spongy tissue is strongly reduced or absent. In this case, the sheet is insulating, that is, both sides of it are identical.
