The State Museum of Gold and Precious Metals is a museum of jewelry in the city of Astana . The State Museum of Gold and Precious Metals was founded in 1990 in Almaty . The museum is engaged in collecting, preserving, exhibiting unique works of ancient and medieval art of Kazakhstan from gold and silver. The main task of the museum is to concentrate in one place (i.e., in the museum funds) outstanding pieces of jewelry art located in different museums of the Republic; facilitate the return of many unique values ​​taken out at different times outside the Republic [1] .

History

It was founded in 1990 [2] . In October 2000, the museum was transferred from Alma-Ata to Astana [1] .

Exposition

Issyk Golden Man

The age of the gold jewelry of the Saka leader dates back to the 5th-4th centuries. BC. According to the definition of anthropologists, the young man buried in the Kurgan Issyk was 17-18 years old. The clothes were dyed brown or red [3] .

Gold Hall

The exposition of the silver hall presents jewelry of the 18th. 20th centuries

  • Breast jewelry - are part of the complex of festive jewelry of Kazakh women. Breastplate was worn on the wedding ceremony. Each of the plates carries a semantic load, a rhombus means the continuation of the genus, fertility, and the triangle is the feminine in uniting and creating a new family.
