Anna Rybinskaya

Rev. Martyr Anna Rybinskaya (Maria Aleksandrovna Blagoveshchenskaya) (January 30, 1898 , Borisogleb village, Poshekhonsky district , Yaroslavl province - March 11, 1937 , Yaroslavl ) - an Orthodox nun, a saint of the Russian Orthodox Church, was canonized as a martyr in 2000.

Biography

The eldest daughter of the priest Alexei Apollonovich Blagoveshchensky Graduated from the Poshekhonsky gymnasium in 1916. She worked as a teacher in rural schools of Beloselsky volost. In 1922, with the blessing of Archimandrite Nikon (Chudnov), hegumen of the Pavlo-Obnorsky Monastery entered the women's “agricultural commune” founded in 1921: under the guise of a commune a female Christian community was hidden, living according to the conventions regulations. Until 1931, the commune worked successfully, showing good economic results, serving as an example of successful collective farming. However, in the spring of 1931, the NKVD began an investigation; the commune was liquidated in 1932. The nun Anna was arrested on April 29, 1931, on April 23, 1932 the investigation was completed and Anna was sent to the state farm forced labor camp. In 1934, she was released and served as a psalmist in the church of the village of Nikolo-Koloksha, Rybinsk district. On September 22, 1936, she was again arrested on false charges of creating a "counter-revolutionary organization of churchmen." March 7, 1937 by the decision of the troika of the Office of the NKVD sentenced to death; March 11, 1937 was shot in Yaroslavl.

Rehabilitated May 25, 1989. Glorified in the face of saints in 2000. Memorial Day March 11th.
