Enrique Urbisu Jauregui ( Spanish: Enrique Urbizu Jáuregui ; born 1962 , Bilbao ) - Spanish screenwriter and film director. He currently teaches at the Faculty of Journalism and Audiovisual Communication of the Carlos III University of Madrid .

He studied information science at the University of the Basque Country . After several short films in 1987, the first full-length film was released to Urbis - the sitcom “Your girlfriend is crazy”, in which the famous actors Antonio Resines and Maria Barranco starred. In 1991, Urbisu made the film “Everything for the Dough” ( Spanish: Todo por la pasta ), a kind of road movie .
Later, Urbisu moved to Madrid , where he directed two comedies, produced by Andres Vicente Gomez : in 1994 - “How to Be Miserable and Enjoy” and in 1995 - “Woman's Horns”. The scripts of both tapes were based on the novels of the journalist Carmen Rico-Godoy . At the same time, he adapted the story of Arturo Perez-Reverte, “Kachito,” which allowed him to be the screenwriter of another film, “The Ninth Gate,” based on another Perez-Reverte novel, “Dumas Club , ” which was shot in 1999 by Roman Polanski .
In 2002, Urbisu shot The Box 507, a thriller that received two Goya awards and several awards at other film festivals. The following year, Urbisu shot Life Blurs. In December 2006, Urbisu was elected first vice president of the Spanish Film Academy . In February 2012, Urbis was awarded the Goya Award for Best Original Screenplay , Best Director and Best Film for his film, No Peace for the Wicked .
