Gorstkov, Evgeny Nikolaevich

Evgeny Nikolaevich Gorstkov (born May 26, 1950 , Orsk ) is a Soviet boxer and sports referee . Four-time absolute champion of the USSR (1974, 1976-1978). Four - time champion of the USSR (1973, 1975-1977). Two - time European champion (1977, 1979). Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (1977). An outstanding boxer of the USSR (1976).

He started boxing lessons in Orsk in the society “ Labor Reserves ”.

Since 1974 he studied in Moscow, in the sports society " Zenith ". The permanent trainer is Yuri Brazhnikov .

He graduated from the Department of Physics and Mathematics of the Orsk Pedagogical Institute, candidate of pedagogical sciences .

After completing his speeches in sports, he switched to coaching.

Achievements

7 years played for the USSR national boxing team. From 1974 to 1981, Gorstkov held 228 fights in the ring.

European Champion 1977 and 1979.

Four-time champion of the USSR in 1973, 1974, 1975, 1977 in heavyweight. Four-time absolute champion of the USSR 1974 , 1976 , 1977 , 1978 .

The owner of the first “Crystal Glove” (1974) - a special prize established by the weekly weekly week to the strongest Soviet heavyweight boxer [2] . Total awarded five of these "gloves."

His most important victories was a victory over future world champion Greg Page in 1976 and a victory over Igor Vysotsky during the selection for the 1980 Olympics , after which Vysotsky ended his sports career at the age of 27.

  • Khozhiakbar Mamakov - international master of sports, champion of the European Youth Championship 2013 [3] .

Interesting fact.

  • Evgeny Gorstkov is one of three Soviet boxers (Gorstkov, Zaev and Vysotsky ) who in 1978 in Moscow held demonstrative fights with the famous world champion among professionals - Mohammed Ali [4] .
