"Russian Castle" ("Sklifosovsky Castle") - a method for the stable connection of bone fragments with false joints or defects of long tubular bones , proposed by I. I. Nasilov and N. V. Sklifosovsky in 1875 [1] [2] [3] [ 4] .
Content
Indications
- False joints
- Tibial Defects
- Humerus defects
- Femoral Defects [1]
Execution Technique
After dissection of the soft tissues to the bone, subperiosteal isolation of the fragments is performed, and then their ends are transversely resected. In the frontal or sagittal plane, the proximal and distal fragments are cut longitudinally into two equal parts to a depth of 3-4 cm with an opening of the bone marrow cavity. At the base of the cuts, transverse dissections of the bone are made so that the protruding part of the distal fragment is placed in place of the removed part of the proximal fragment, ensuring their full contact. Fragments are fixed with a wire suture, screws or compression-distraction apparatus [1] .
