Geographical position
The village is located 54 km east of the district center of Oktyabrsky village on the border with the Vologda region , the Ileza railway station on the Velsk - Kotlas line , on the banks of the Ileza river ( Northern Dvina basin ).
History
In the census books of the Vazhsky district at the end of the 17th century , the Ilez parish and the Ilez pogost are mentioned. In May 1956, the village of Ileza was transferred to the Ustyansky District from the Tarnogsky District of the Vologda Region. From 1963 to 2002, the village of Ileza had the status of an urban-type settlement [2] , after - the center of the Ilez village council , since 2006 - the center of the rural settlement, the municipal entity "Ilezskoye" .
