Located on the Tonino-Aniva Peninsula , is 0.7 km from Aniva Bay. It is a round bay in the western part of the Great Wawai Lake [3] .
The mirror area is 0.7 km², the catchment area is 308 km² [4] . From the west, the Protochnaya River flows into the lake, originating from the Chibisan lakes , just south of its mouth flows the Arakul River, flowing to Lake Busse (10 km to the southeast) [3] .
The shores of the lake are mostly covered with forest. Holiday homes are located on the southern and eastern shores [3] .
The shores of the lake are composed of gravel and pebble soils, often with a significant admixture of sand. The northern shore is steep, which is why trees and shrubs hang over the water and there is a large contraction of the coast [5] .
The water in the lake is fresh, the drain from it is more than evaporation. The level of runoff in the warm season is high, due to the filling with melt and rainwater, and autumn rain flood is also noted. The amplitude of annual level fluctuations is in the range of 50–80 cm [5] .
