Shota Varlamovich Dzidziguri ( Georgian შოთა ვარლამის ძე ძიძიგური ; August 15, 1911, Mathoji - December 14, 1994) is a Georgian linguist who studied the history and dialectology of the Kartvelian languages, as well as the Basque language . Doctor of Philology, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Georgian SSR since 1974. Author of numerous publications on the grammar and history of the Georgian language, dialectology, onomastics, and literary criticism.

He was one of the active supporters of the Basque-Caucasian kinship hypothesis, to which modern linguistics is critical. At the same time, Dzidziguri’s enthusiasm stimulated research on the Basque problem in the territory of the former USSR.
