Philibert de Chalon-Arles ( Fr. Philibert de Châlon-Arlay ; March 18, 1502 , Lons-le-Saunier - August 3, 1530 ) - Prince of Orange , Senor Arles and Nozerois. The last representative of the younger branch of the Burgundian dynasty, which originates from Guillaume IV, Count of Oxon (1090/1095 - 1155), and which acquired the Principality of Orange as a result of the marriage of Jean III de Chalon (d. 1418) with Mary (d. 1417), daughter and heiress of Raymond V de Bo , Prince of Orange.

Biography
Philibert de Chalon is the son of Jean IV de Chalon-Arles and Philibert de Luxembourg, the daughter of Antoine II de Ligny , Count de Brienne, de Ligny and de Rus.
His father died 3 weeks after the birth of Philibert. The mother was the regent at the young heir, and since 1517 he began to rule on his own.
He took part in the struggle between the king of France Francis I and the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V. To protect his possessions, first maneuvered between two opposing camps. In 1524 he openly joined the party of the emperor.
In 1527, after the death of the Connable de Bourbon , he led the imperial troops in the Italian campaign . Rome took it and forced St. Paul to take refuge in the castle. Angela Pope Clement VII to surrender with the payment of a fee of 400 thousand ducats.
After the death of on May 28, 1528, Charles V appointed Philibert the Governor and Captain-General of Naples .
Philibert de Chalon died on August 3, 1530 at the Battle of Gavinan during the siege of Florence . He was 28 years old. All the possessions and titles were inherited by his nephew Rene de Chalon (Rene de Nassau-Breda) - the son of Claude, sister of Philibert.
