In 1995, the monument was repaired. During his restoration, inscriptions in Polish were posted on it:

“Chcecie zważyć ofiary tej wojny? Do sławy i honoru na jednej szali
Dołóżcie jeszcze odrodzoną duszę narodu,
a szala i tak uniesie się lekko do góry »
“Do you want to weigh the victims of this war? For glory and honor in one of the bowls
Report yet the revived soul of the people
and the cup will easily lift up. "

"Odrodzenie duszy narodu
Wznosi się ponad cierpienie.
Boże, zlituj się nad naszą ofiarą
I pozwól potomnym
Wznieść się tym zwycięstwem ponad groby »
"The revived soul of the people
Rises above suffering
God, have mercy on our sacrifice.
And let the descendants
Ascend by this victory over death. ”
