History

The first mention of the village of Blagoveshchensk was made in 1619 in the case of the Sudromsky priest Dmitry, where the Great Sloboda and the parish of Blagoveshchensk were marked, in which the first customs was built. Later, in the scribe books of the Vazha voivode in 1642 it is written: "In the great suburban camp on the Ustya River there is the Annunciation graveyard, households - 48 and 2 widows without children." In 1670 there was a guest house, 118 shops and 45 barns, 53 huts, 2 customs offices, 3 churches, 2 wells. Gostiny Dvor 82 fathoms wide (185 m) and 101 fathoms long (215 m).

In 1708, Peter I, by his decree, formed the Arkhangelsk province, which included the Annunciation volost. The Shenkur district was isolated from the Vazhskaya region and annexed to the Vologda province by a personal decree of Empress Catherine II in 1780. The Shenkur district entered the Arkhangelsk province in 1784. On December 12, 1798, by decree of Emperor Paul I, 7 counties were included in the Arkhangelsk province: Arkhangelsk, Kola, Mezensky, Onega, Pinezhsky, Kholmogorsky and Shenkursky.

According to January 1, 1926, the village of Blagoveshchensk was the center of the Annunciation volost of the Shenkur district of the Arkhangelsk province . In 1929, the village of Blagoveshchenskoye became part of the Rovdinsky district of the Northern Territory . Since 1959 - in the Velsky district of the Arkhangelsk region.

Geographical position

The village is located 60 km north of Velsk , 11 km from the Kholmogory M8 federal highway, on the left bank of the Ustya River (a tributary of the Vaga ).

In the village there is an electric substation of the production department "Velsky Electric Networks" PS 110/10 No. 201 Blagoveshchensk, supplying all the settlements of the municipality "Blagoveshchenskoe". It was commissioned in 1975 , equipped with two transformers of 2.5 MVA each. [6]

Attractions

Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary - in its current form, the church was built in 1817 on the site of two wooden churches that burned out on the night of July 30 to July 31, 1806 - the Annunciation with the limit of the Monk Varlaam of Khutyn and Preobrazhenskaya, nine-domed, with the chapels of Peter and Paul and the holy prophet Zachary. Construction began on June 13, 1807. The church was five-domed and two-story, had four thrones - on the lower floor of the Annunciation (consecrated in 1817) and Evdokievsky (consecrated in 1818), on the upper floor of the Preobrazhensky (consecrated in 1820) and Peter and Paul (consecrated in 1822). In 1929, the domes were dropped. The church itself was used as a cafe, bakery and shop. In 2000, the temple was handed over to believers. [7]

Alexander Nevsky Church - a wooden, sheathed church. Built in 1881-1886 at the expense of local residents in memory of Emperor Alexander II . For the construction, the material of the Floro-Lavra Church, which existed on this site from the 17-18 centuries, was used. In 1929, the church was closed and transferred to the club. [eight]
