Biography

The son of Pavel Petrovich Belobrov, colonel of the naval navigators corps [1] . He studied at one of the schools of Revel . He graduated from the Naval Cadet Corps with a prize from Admiral Nakhimov in 1914 and was promoted to midshipman . In 1917 he graduated from the navigational officer class . In 1914 - 1917 he served on the ships of the Baltic Fleet (battleship “ Tsesarevich ”, armored cruiser “ Oleg ” and destroyer “ Gaydamak ”), midshipman , a participant in World War I , participated in the ice passage of the ships of the Baltic Fleet from Helsingfors to Kronshtadt . Since August 1918 he commanded the destroyer Amurets in battles against the White Finns . From 1919 to 1929 he served as the flagship navigator of the current detachment of ships of the Baltic Sea . On August 22, 1921, he was arrested by the Cheka’s organs in Petrograd , later sent to Moscow and imprisoned in Butyrka prison , then he was transferred and served a further sentence in the Vladimir Central . In November 1921, at the request of the legal department of the Moscow Political Red Cross, he filled out a “Prisoner Questionnaire”, where in the column “Special Comments” he wrote:

On August 22, from <his> g <ode> he was summoned from the duty station to the Baltic Fleet Filtration Commission in a public place in the premises of the 2nd Baltic Fleet of the Ekaterinburg. About 200 people arrived there at the same time as me. On the 7th night, the Cheka officers began a search, after which an armed guard was introduced and, without declaring a reason, we were arrested. On August 23, the money selected during the search was returned to us. On August 24, at 3 a.m. nights, we were taken among 300 people (with those brought from Kronsh <tadt>), and it turned out to <a> to Nikolaev Station, they sent us to Moscow with a special train. On August 26 in Moscow we were divided into groups; on August 27, a group of 17 people arrived in Vladimir on “NRZB.” And was put in Gubsky Yernsky correctional house. On October 28, at the Cheka’s call, I was sent to Moscow, where I was taken at 8½ hours a.m. on October 29 and stayed idle until now. Thus, I do not know the charges without interrogation for 2½ months, while away from my relatives, therefore, without transfers. Signed by Andrey Belobrov .

In December 1921 he was released from prison, and the Cheka's certificate of this dated February 7, 1922 . [2]

In 1924 he graduated with honors from the Naval Academy with a surname on a marble plaque. He worked as a senior cartographer in the Main Hydrographic Directorate with the rank of captain of the 1st rank. He participated in hydrographic expeditions to the Arctic Ocean ( 1924 ) and to the Black Sea ( 1928 - 1932 ). In 1928 he defended his thesis at the Main Astronomical Observatory in Pulkovo , worked as the head of the Separate Hydrographic Unit of the Black Sea , and supervised the hydrographic work of the Black Sea coast. [3] Since 1932 he switched to administrative and teaching work in military schools, taught geodesy, navigational astronomy, hydrography at the courses of the General Sea Route , at the Hydrographic Institute , at the Naval Academy, Leningrad State University , Leningrad Hydrometeorological Institute , and at special courses for officers Navy. March 3, 1938 was awarded the title of flagship engineer of the 3rd rank [4] . In 1939 - 1941 Deputy Head of the Naval Hydrographic College named. G. K. Ordzhonikidze , in 1941 - 1948 deputy head of the VVMU. M.V. Frunze , and in 1948 - 1950 the head of the department at the 1st Baltic Higher Naval School .

In 1945 he defended his doctoral dissertation. Since 1950 he entered the reserve, was engaged in teaching and research activities. In 1950-1954, the head of the Department of Navigation at the Leningrad Higher Naval College. In 1954 - 1973 he headed the Department of Hydrography of the Leningrad Higher Marine Engineering College named after Admiral Makarov . In 1974 - 1981, professor - consultant . He died in Leningrad and was buried in the Sestroretsky cemetery [5] next to his older brothers Dmitry and Alexei.

Elder brother: Dmitry Pavlovich Belobrov (1885-1964) - captain of the 1st rank, head of the navigation department of VVMU im. Frunze (1943-1948). Daughter: Olga Andreevna Belobrova (1925—2018) - candidate of historical sciences, senior researcher at the Department of Old Russian Literature of the Pushkin House .
