Diner is a type of fast-food restaurant that is typical for North America, especially the Midwest, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and other northeastern states of America, although such establishments can be found throughout the United States, Canada and in some places in Western Europe . Some people use the term “diner” only for eateries that are located in detached buildings of a traditional style, others - to refer to any eateries that have a similar range of dishes and atmosphere, even if they are located in ordinary buildings. Diners are characterized by a wide range of dishes mainly from American cuisine, a relaxed atmosphere and a mode of work until late. A distinctive feature of classic American diners is the widespread use of stainless steel for their design, which creates a unique architecture of diners.

History

The first diner was discovered in 1872 by Walter Scott. He worked in a print shop, but decided to go in for selling food from a horse-drawn van.

Architecture

Diners of the 1950s, as a rule, use stainless steel panels, porcelain enamels, glass blocks , mosaic floors, plastic and neon signs .

Diners have a different design, but as a rule, stainless steel and art deco elements are widely used.
