He grew up with his sister Sarah in , Kent . He worked as a gardener-decorator before moving to America [1] . Since it was almost impossible for him as an Englishman in the States to get a role, Goddard pretended to be an Australian and often appealed with facts of a fictional biography, deliberately underestimating his age [1] . Subsequently, many media outlets indicated that the actor was 37 years old [2] [3] [4] .

At the very beginning of his film career, Goddard periodically appeared as a cameo in many television series, including , , Rescuers Malibu , and The Apostate . However, Goddard was not trained in acting and did not take his roles very seriously. In 1993, he won the LA Drama Critics Circle Award in the category of “Best Actor's Work” for his participation in the theatrical production of Cock & Bull Story [5] . In 1995, he played the role of Kano in the movie adaptation of Paul William Scott Anderson's “Mortal Kombat”. The image created by the actor served as the impetus for the evolution of the character in subsequent video games of the Mortal Kombat series [6] . Later he continued to act and played in such films as “ Gone in 60 Seconds ”, “Soldiers of Fortune” (with Dolph Lundgren and future partner in the television series “Military Legal Service” Catherine Bell ) and “Vampire from Hollywood”. He also played as Lieutenant Commander Mick Brumby in the television series Military Legal Service, and his role in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl was the actor’s last appearance on the screen. Analgesics were prescribed to Goddard after an ankle ligament rupture occurred during the shooting [1] . In 2010, immediately on DVD was released the film " " with Trevor Goddard in the title role. Filming began in 1994, but was complicated by financial problems, the death of the lead actor and producer [7] .

Among other things, Trevor Goddard was also engaged in boxing, and performed in light heavyweight [K 1] . During his amateur career, he spent 59 fights, 58 of which he won, before he accepted the offer to become a professional and went to Los Angeles in 1987. Two years later, as a result of an accident, Trevor lost three toes on one leg, but hoped to return to the ring and turned for help to Ruth Ann McCarthy, an aerobics instructor who later became his wife [5] . They have two sons - Travis and Daniel [1] .

On June 7, 2003, Trevor Goddard was found dead in his own home in North Hollywood . He was 40 years old. The original version was suicide, as Goddard was undergoing a divorce proceedings [8] [9] . An autopsy of Goddard showed that his death was caused by an overdose of drugs heroin , cocaine , temazepam and vicodin [10] . Lawyer Jennifer Rocco, representing Goddard’s interests in the divorce proceedings, said that her ward did take painkillers and suffered from arrhythmia [11] .

After Trevor’s death, his father Eric Goddard, a former senior police inspector in London, noted that charm, personality and appearance made success inevitable despite his son’s criminal convictions. “[Trevor] convinced everyone that he was Australian, even Australians. Perth became his second homeland, ”concluded Eric Goddard [1] [12] .
