February 21, 1915 "Endurance" was at the southernmost point of its path - 76 ° 58 'y. sh., then began to drift north [1] . Already in April, ice shifts began.
On September 30, Endurance suffered the most severe ice compressions during the entire expedition. On October 24, the strong pressure of ice from the starboard led to the destruction of the wooden structure and the formation of holes [2] . Supplies and three boats were unloaded on ice. For three days the team fought for the life of the ship, pumping water out of the holds at −27 ° C and trying to bring the patch . On October 27, Shackleton ordered the evacuation of the ice to begin. The ship was at 69 ° 05'y. W, 51 ° 30'Z. d. [3] . The wreckage remained afloat for several more weeks, which allowed to extract many left things.
