Biography
Received a law degree. He worked as a lawyer.
- 1930-1936 - Deputy State Secretary for Labor and Trade,
- 1936-1940 - sub-prefect of the region South - Pyrenees ,
- 1940-1942 - Prefect of the Department of Son and Loire ,
- 1943 - Prefect of the Seine and Marne department . In 1944, he was arrested by the German authorities and sent to the Neuengamme camp near Hamburg,
- 1947-1950 - the first prefect of Reunion . In this position, he took decisive steps to destroy the population of anopheles mosquitoes and achieved a practical complete victory over this disease.
- 1950 - Prefect of the province of Oran in French Algeria,
- 1951—1956 - Prefect of the Lower Rhine Department,
- 1956-1967 - Prefect of the Department of Seine and Oise ,
- 1966-1969 - Minister of State of the Principality of Monaco. After retiring, he was an adviser to the ruling Prince Rainier III .
