Ratings and Opinions
The commissar of the 104th Panzer Division A. S. Davidenko about his commander [3] :
Colonel Burkov skillfully organized several bold attacks on the superior forces of the enemy. Only in one clash with the Nazis was the infantry battalion with all anti-tank weapons completely destroyed. Vasily Gerasimovich competently led the division. Each battle organized thoughtfully. In all serious battles he took a personal part. His commander's tank could be seen on the most critical and decisive sites. He appeared exactly where his advice, peppy word or harsh order was required. With great courage, concern for people, knowledge of technology and its capabilities, Vasily Gerasimovich earned authority and love from his subordinates
