Zaponorie is a village in the Orekhovo-Zuyevsky district of the Moscow region of Russia . It is part of the rural settlement of Davydovskoye . Located on the river Ponor . Population - 134 [1] people. (2010).

History
Zaponorie village was first mentioned in 1587. The village was located on land belonging to the Moscow Chudov Monastery . The documents of that time are referred to as “ Zaponorye, Vlasyevsky identity ”. The name of the village was supposedly given by the inhabitants of the neighboring larger village Davydovo , in relation to which the village is located beyond the river Ponor . The second name Vlasyevskoye is associated with the church personal name Blasius (a variant of the name Vasily ) [2] .
According to documents of 1623-1624, in the village there was a wooden church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos. In 1678, there were about 10 peasant households in the village, where 36 people lived. In 1746 a new wooden Pokrovskaya Church was built in the village [3] .
In the 19th century, the village of Zaponorye was the administrative center of the Zaponorsky volost of Bogorodsky district of the Moscow province . In the village there was a parish government, a parochial school [4] , the Pokrovskaya church and an old believer chapel [5] .
In 1852, there were 72 courtyards and 391 residents in the village [6] . In 1862, 359 people lived in the village (168 men and 191 women) [5] . In 1899, 409 people lived in the village [4] .
In 1925, the population was 611 people, there were 115 households in the village [6] .
The Church of the Intercession was closed in 1940, and by 1948 completely demolished [3] .

According to the All-Russian Census , in 2002, 116 people lived in the village (50 men and 66 women); the predominant nationality is Russians (97%) [7] . As of 2005, 105 people lived in the village [8] .

Location
The village is located about 19 km south of the center of Orekhovo-Zuyevo . The nearest populated areas are the villages Nenilovo and Barskoye .
