Józef Wesolowski ( Polish: Józef Wesołowski ; July 15, 1948 , Nowy Targ , Poland - August 27, 2015 , Vatican City ) - Polish Catholic prelate, archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church in 1999-2014, diplomat . Titular Archbishop of Slebte from November 3, 2000 to June 27, 2014. The first apostolic nuncio deprived of his dignity for pedophilia [1] .

Biography
In 1966 he graduated from the Severin Goshchinsky Secondary School in Nowy Targ [2] .
He graduated from the Cracow Higher Theological Seminary . May 21, 1972 ordained as priest in Krakow ( Poland ).
Since November 3, 1999 - titular archbishop of Slebte [3] and the apostolic nuncio in Bolivia .
On January 6, 2000, he was ordained bishop .
Since February 16, 2002 - the apostolic nuncio in Kazakhstan and, concurrently, in Tajikistan . Since July 6, 2002, concurrently, the apostolic nuncio in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan .
From January 24, 2008 to August 21, 2013 - the Apostolic Nuncio in the Dominican Republic .
Child Sexual Violence Investigation
In 2013, Vesolovsky was removed from office after reports appeared in the media that he was paying for sex to underage boys whom he met in the center of Santo Domingo [1] .
On June 27, 2014, Vesolovsky was convicted of sexual abuse of children and deprived of his dignity. This is the first such case in history [1] [4] .
