Career
Brian Heberlin earned a master's degree from Loyola Marymount University [1] . Heberlin began his career working at Lorimar / Warner Brothers Television, but in the end he quit his job at Warner Brothers in order to pursue a career in comics, with his lifelong passion [2] .
Heberlin began his career working at Top Cow Productions , where he was vice president of creative. [3] After being there, he co-authored the Witchblade comic strip, the appearance of which was caused by the lack of realistic female superheroes in the comics. [4] The comic has become so popular that it not only received several spin-offs, but went beyond the scope of comics - a television series, anime was filmed and an adaptation is being created.
Heberlin formed his own studio in 1995, engaged in illustration and digital painting for the comic book publishers Marvel Comics , DC Comics and Image Comics . He then created Avalon Studious along with Wilch Portacio in 1998. Avalon Studious has published many successful fantasy and science fiction series, including Stone , a fantasy series using elements of Filipino mythology [5] , Area 52 , a science fiction series that they are planning to film in 2013 [6] , and M-Rex , which was successfully adapted into the cartoon Generator Rex , released by the Cartoon Network channel [7] .
Heberlin became editor in chief at Todd McFarlane Productions in 2006, and he painted with pencil and ink for the Spawn comic book series for two years, he was also a screenwriter.
Heberlin now runs DigitalArtTutorials.com, where you can purchase his drawing tutorials. He also teaches at the College of Art and Design of Mineapolis, and is a partner in Anomaly Productions, which produces graphic novels and books for children. In February 2012, he released a 3D comic strip for children called Captain Wonder [8] . Anomaly Productions is currently working on a graphic novel of more than 300 pages called Anomaly [9] . The book, written together with Hollywood lawyer Skip Brittenham, uses augmented reality technology and interacts with mobile devices with Android, as well as with iPad and iPhone. The book was released in October 2012 [10] .
Heberlin also created the fantasy novel But ... But ... Barbarians? along with Gerry Alanguilan, Todd MacFarlane and Wu-Tang Clan [11] . Heberlin is now blogging on Digital Art Tutorials. Heberlin notes the influence on his work of Marco Diurdevich, Egon Schiele , Katsuhiro Otomo and the television series Lost [12] .
Heberlin often collaborates with 3D World and ImagineFX [13] . His work was added to the permanent collection at the Smithsonian Institution [1] .
Heberlin is part of the Adjunct Faculty at the College of Art and Design in Minneapolis [1] .
