Michelle DeYoung ( 1968 , Grand Rapids , MI ) is an American opera and concert singer ( mezzo-soprano ).

Biography

She completed the training program for the Metropolitan Opera for young artists, and won the audition for the National Council of the Metropolitan Opera in 1992 . Bachelor ( 2009 ) and Doctor ( 2010 ) of Fine Arts , University of California, Northridge.

Creative Collaboration

She performed on the largest stages of the world with orchestras under the direction of Pierre Boulez , James Levine , Daniel Barenboim , Kent Nagano , Colin Davis , Leonard Slatkin and others.

Repertoire

She sang in the operas of Mozart ( Idomen ), Wagner ( Ring of the Nibelung , Parsifal , Tannhauser , Tristan and Isolda ), Berlioz ( Trojans , Condemnation of Faust ), Ambroise Tom ( ), Verdi ( Aida , Don Carlos ), Stravinsky ( Tsar Oedipus ), Bartok ( Castle of the Duke of Bluebeard ), Britten ( Scolding Lucretia , Death in Venice ), Pulenka ( Dialogues of the Carmelites ), Tan Duna ( First Emperor ), Mahler's symphonic compositions, John Corigliano , performed the vocal compositions of Wagner, Liszt , Dupark , Mahler, Richard Strauss , Schoenberg , E.
