Theater History

In 1926, in Khabarovsk with the operetta of Imre Kalman "Silva", the Far Eastern labor team of comic opera artists (Khabarovsk City Musical Theater) began work.

In 1933, the theater was renamed the Khabarovsk Musical Comedy Theater .

During the Great Patriotic War, the theater continued to work, in 1945, the fighters who participated in the Manchurian operation gave performances on the front .

In 1946, the Khabarovsk Musical Comedy Theater toured for the first time abroad in the People's Republic of China .

In 1975, Hungarian television shot a film about the Khabarovsk Theater of Musical Comedy.

In 1980, the theater participated in the cultural program of the XXII Olympic Games .

In 1987, the theater made one of the biggest tours in its history. A creative report on the stages of theaters in Moscow, Leningrad, Riga, Narva, Daugavpils and Riga began in early March and ended in August.

For many years the Khabarovsk Theater of Musical Comedy worked in the building of the former Military Assembly on the street. Shevchenko 7, in the same building, the Far Eastern Art Museum and the Regional Philharmonic .

By the 60th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution, the theater moved to its own building, built on ul. Karl Marx, 64.

The theater building is also used for ceremonial regional and city events, international scientific and socio-political forums.

In 2008, the Khabarovsk Theater of Musical Comedy was renamed into the Khabarovsk Regional Musical Theater .

For many years, the director, honored art worker of the Russian Federation, Yu. I. Grinshpun worked as art director at the Khabarovsk Theater of Musical Comedy.

From 1971 to 1973, the main director of the theater was VB Grigoriev , the Honored Art Worker.
