Biography
Orthodox. From the nobles of the Poltava province. The son of Major General Sergei Danilovich Gesket .
He graduated from the Alexander Cadet Corps (1908) and the Mikhailovsky Artillery School (1911), from where he was released as second lieutenant in the Life Guards Izmailovsky Regiment , with which he entered the First World War . Manufactured on assignments on December 6, 1914. He was awarded the Order of St. George 4th degree
| Because, being in the rank of lieutenant, in the battle on July 5, 1915 near Krasnostav, having advanced 4 machine guns on the left flank of the regiment, acting in front of our chains under destructive artillery, machine gun and rifle fire, he not only stopped the oncoming offensive of the German guard units , but also threw back the German chains, which made it possible for the regiment, having passed the defile, to turn in front of the forest and settle down firmly in position, which led to a decisive reflection of the oncoming strike of the Germans; Staff Captain Gesket was seriously injured by a gun bullet. |
According to the memoirs of the commander of the Izmailovsky regiment, Major General Gerua , Gesket was wounded in his right hand and lost the ability to own it. On November 26, 1916 - the captain of the Izmailovsky regiment, on April 2, 1917 - in the same rank. During the Civil War he participated in the White Movement as part of the Armed Forces of the South of Russia , and served in the battalion of the Izmaylovsky Regiment, formed in the All-Union Union of Liberal Forces. In December 1919 - March 1920 he was evacuated to Yugoslavia.
In exile in Yugoslavia. He was a representative of the regimental association. During the Second World War he served in the Russian Corps . From October 31, 1941 he was appointed treasurer of the 1st Regiment, from April 8, 1942 - commander of the 2nd Battalion of the 3rd Regiment. December 15, 1943 he was appointed commander of the 4th Regiment. It was produced in overs. He died on October 23, 1944 during the battle in Chachka : being at the observation post, he was killed by fragments of an exploding bomb.
He was married twice. The first wife is Alexandra Aleksandrovna, the second is Elena Vasilievna Flug (d. 1986).
