Holshehr ( Persian گلشهر ) is a small city in central Iran , in the province of Isfahan . It is part of the Shakhrestan Golpayegan .

History
The city arose in 2002 by combining the rural settlements of Varzane, Kondjanjan, Filahos and Vedag.
Geography
The city is located in the western part of Isfahan, at an altitude of 1774 meters above sea level [1] . Holshehr is located approximately 140 kilometers northwest of Isfahan , the provincial capital, and 248 kilometers south-west (SSW) from Tehran , the country's capital.
Population
According to the census, in 2006 the population was 9,966 people [2] .
