College
CJ Watson has played for the University of Tennessee basketball team for four seasons. In his final year at college, Watson achieved the best results on the basketball court, he scored 15.3 points, 3.9 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game. Watson ended his student career with 577 gears (2nd result in college history), with 39.6% accurate three-point shots (6th), with 401 exact three-point hitting (8th) and with 1424 points (15th). ). Watson's nickname in college was Quiet Storm ( English Quiet storm ) [1] .
Professional career
Europe
Despite a good last season, Watson College was not selected for the 2006 NBA Draft . In the offseason, Watson played for the San Antonio Spurs in the Summer League, after which he joined the Regena team in the Italian Championship . He scored 8.5 points and 2.3 rebounds on average per game, having spent 17 games for the team. Then CJ moved to the Greek club " PAOK ", where he spent only 5 matches [1] .
NBA Development League
In the summer of 2007, Watson returned to the United States to resume attempts to get into the NBA. He took part in the Summer League, speaking first for the San Antonio Spurs and then for the Charlotte Bobcats . He again failed to get into the club from the NBA and he nominated himself for the draft of the NBA Development League , where he was selected under the general 5th number by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers team. He scored 26.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game, on average, before he signed a 10-day contract with the Golden State Warriors on January 8, 2008. By the time he left the Development League, he was the 3rd player in the performance championship, and also became the 100th player who got into the NBA from the clubs of the NBA Development League [2] [3] .
NBA
In the "Warriors" Watson left the bench replacing the main point guard team Baron Davis . During the time spent in the club, CJ impressed the then team coach Don Nelson and he was offered a contract before the end of the season. On February 17, 2010, Watson scored 40 points in the game against the Sacramento Kings . [4]
On July 21, 2010, Watson was traded in the Chicago Bulls . On November 26, 2010, the main point guard Bulls, Derrick Rose, suffered a neck injury and Watson began to play in the starting five of the team. In the first match, in a new role for himself, Watson scored 33 points. On December 14, 2011, Watson changed his 32nd number to the 7th, giving him to Richard Hamilton who came to the club [5] [6] .
On July 15, 2012, Watson signed a 2-year contract with the Brooklyn Nets [7] .
