Biography
Grundman Roman Romanovich was born on December 1, 1889 in Peterhof , St. Petersburg province . By nationality, a German, the son of a hereditary honorary citizen.
He graduated from the Marine Engineering College. October 5, 1913 was promoted to warrant officer and sent to serve on the cruiser "Stormbreaker (cruiser) | Stormbreaker".
After the October Revolution, he sided with the Soviet regime.
In April 1917, he was elected Deputy Chairman of the Central Balt P.E. Dybenko .
From July 25 (August 7) to October 16 (29), 1917, he was chairman of the third-person central ball.
November 10, 1917 was appointed commissar of the General Directorate of Shipbuilding.
In February 1918, before Revel left the Soviet forces due to the threat of seizure of ships by Kaiser Germany, R. R. Grundman led a group of mine-bombers to destroy coastal batteries on the coast and on the islands of Wulf and Nargen. [one]
In the years 1923-1924, Grundman R.R. was the head of the Marine Engineering School .
In 1925-1930 he worked at shipyards to create domestic boiler-turbine plants for warships. [2]
In March 1931 he was repressed and sentenced to 5 years in prison for counterrevolutionary labor.
After his release, a 1st-rank military engineer Grundman worked as head of the planning and production department of the Kronstadt Marine Plant.
March 2, 1938 was again arrested. On September 6, 1940, according to Stalin's lists, he was convicted by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR on false charges of participating in a counter-revolutionary officer organization and spying against the USSR. (The charge of crimes provided for in Article 58, paragraph 1-b, 7, paragraph 9 and 11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR.)
July 27, 1941 was shot at the firing range "Kommunarka" in the Moscow region .
Completely rehabilitated by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR in August 1960.

- Brother - Lev Romanovich Grundman (1894-1938) - naval officer, teacher at the Murmansk Naval College. Repressed. Shot on January 8, 1938, rehabilitated on January 7, 1958.
