National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia

The National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia (abbreviated as NFOR ) is an academic musical group created in January 2003 by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation . Since the creation of the orchestra, its artistic director and chief conductor has been the world-famous violinist and conductor Vladimir Spivakov , who previously headed the Russian National Orchestra . Since 2006 , Ion Marine is the main guest conductor of the orchestra.

The NFOR began its activities in September 2003 with a concert dedicated to the memory of conductor Evgeny Svetlanov .

In addition to Vladimir Spivakov , conductors such as Thomas Sanderling , Theodor Currentzis , Vladimir Simkin and Alexei Stepanov perform with the collective.

Criticism emphasizes the mastery of the leading soloists of the orchestra - accompanist Jereme Zuckerman , the first cello Yuri Loevsky, trumpeter Kirill Soldatov, timpani Valery Polivanov, flute player Sergei Bubnov and others [1] [2] [3] [4] .

The repertoire of the orchestra is formed both from the works of the golden fund of classical music, and unjustly forgotten, as well as compositions specially written for the orchestra. The orchestra toured in various cities of Russia, took part in European festivals in Colmar and Saint-Ricier . September 12, 2004 in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory NFOR gave a concert dedicated to the 60th anniversary of its artistic director.

In 2007 , a grant from the Government of the Russian Federation was awarded to the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia.
