History

The first burials at the site of the necropolis date back to 1900. Initially, the cemetery did not have a name. Only when the cottage village of Lianozovo was founded near, which, in turn, captured the name of the famous oil industrialist George Lianozov [1] , the cemetery became known as Lianozovsky [2] .

In the early 1960s, due to the construction of the Moscow Ring Road , part of the graves from the nearby Altufevsky cemetery , partially lying on the path of the future highway, was transferred to the cemetery. Since 1960, a register of burials has been maintained here. The cemetery became part of Moscow cemeteries in 1978 [3] [4] .

In 2002, the church chapel of Ksenia of Petersburg was laid in the cemetery, the construction of which was completed in 2005 [5] .

In November 2015, a pilot auction was held to sell cemetery places for family graves. Previously, the cemetery was closed, but, according to the State Unitary Enterprise “Ritual”, new places were found due to demolition of outbuildings [6] .
