The flag of the Ardatov urban settlement of the Ardatovsky municipal district of the Republic of Mordovia of the Russian Federation is an identification mark serving as the official symbol of the municipality.

The flag was approved on September 30, 2011 by the decision of the Council of Deputies of the city settlement Ardatov No. 130 [1] and on November 2, 2011 it was added to the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation with assignment of registration number 7287 [2] .
Description
"A rectangular panel with a ratio of width to length 2: 3, consisting of two equal horizontal stripes: white and green, with the image in the middle of two yellow hayfields from the coat of arms of the urban settlement of Ardatov."
Justification of Symbols
The flag of the Ardatov urban settlement is based on the coat of arms of the Ardatov urban settlement and reflects historical, cultural, socio-economic, national and other local traditions.
The city of Ardatov was formed as a village on the Alatyr River in the 17th century. At the end of the 18th century, Ardatov received the status of a county town. Throughout the history of the city, local residents mainly engaged in farming and small crafts.
The flag of the city settlement of Ardatov is based on the historical coat of arms of the city of Ardatov in Alatyr (formerly Ardatov), highly approved by Empress Catherine II on December 22, 1780 ( January 2, 1781 ) [3] together with the coats of arms of other cities of Simbirsk governorship : in the upper part of the shield there is a coat of arms Simbirsky, in the lower part of the shield, " Two haystacks, in a silver field, as a sign of great abundance of hay ." Thus, the emblem reflected the specifics of agriculture - harvesting hay for sale.
The use of the historical coat of arms as the basis of the flag of the modern municipal formation symbolizes the historical continuity of many generations of the city's inhabitants, and respect for traditions and cultural heritage.
Yellow color ( gold ) is a symbol of harvest, wealth, stability, respect, intelligence, solar heat.
White color ( silver ) is a symbol of purity, perfection, peace and mutual understanding.
Green color is a symbol of nature, health, youth, life growth.
