Geography
The length of the river is 251 km, the basin area is 10.5 thousand km². [3]
The source of the river is located in the extreme southeast of the Oymyakon ulus (near the border with the Okhotsk region of the Khabarovsk Territory ) on the northern slopes of the Khalkan Range , due to which the upper stream is sometimes distinguished as a separate source-tributary and is called (above the confluence of the Burgachen River) as Khalkan or Kalkan [4 ] , including the right Halkan [6] , which flows first in the north direction, then in the west, and, taking the Left Halkan, continues to flow northward as the Halkan, including its beginning. Further, with bends, the river goes in northern directions, then turns west and takes the Burgachen river on the left . After connecting to the latter, the river is called Tuora-Yuryakh or Khastakh and flows first to the northwest, then to the west, after which it turns north, northeast and east, again north and, connecting with Taryn-Uryakh forms the channel of the Indigirka river .
The total length of the Indigirka and Khastakh (Tuora-Yuryakh with Halkan) is 1977 km. [3] [7]

The main tributaries on the right are Buor-Uryakh (132 km) [3] , Khastakh (58 km) [3] , Pologiy , Zayachye , Effuzivny , on the left are Labynkyr , Mandychen , Burgachen .
