Biography
Born in a military family. She studied at the philological faculty of Kharkov University . In 1981 she graduated from the Moscow Gorky Institute of Literature . He lives in Kharkov.
She worked in the Book Chamber of Ukraine (1981-1986), the commercial firm Apis (since 1988). He was co-editor of the literary magazine "Bursatsky Descent" (since 1992). Published in the almanac “ Sagittarius ”, “Anthology of Russian poets of Ukraine”, Russian and Ukrainian literary journals “ Literary Studies ”, “ Raduga ”, “ © Writers ’ Union ”,“ Byzantine Angel ”,“ Sota ”,“ Khreshchatyk ”,“ Friendship ” , Bursatsky Descent, Rise and others. Translated verses by Sappho , Golden Verses by Pythagoras , Rubai by Omar Khayyam , Song of Songs , works by Ukrainian, Polish, Armenian poets. The poems of Irina Evsa were translated into Azerbaijani, Armenian, Georgian, Lithuanian, Serbian, and Ukrainian.
Compiled (with Andrei Dmitriev and Stanislav Minakov ) anthologies of contemporary Russian poets of Ukraine “The Wild Field. Poems of Russian Poets of Ukraine at the End of the 20th Century ”(2000).

Paragraph anti-award
In 2013, at the initiative of Russian critic and literary figure Alexander Gavrilov [4] Irina Evsa was awarded the Paragraph anti-prize in the nomination “Worst Translation” [5] . The award was presented for the remaking of the earlier translations into Russian of classical works of foreign literature that were not protected by copyright. From the mid-2000s, Evs translated all Omar Khayyam’s rubies, Dante ’s Divine Comedy , Milton’s “ Lost ” and “Returned Paradise”, Goethe ’s Faust and all of Shakespeare’s major works. “Such exceptional performance is based on the usual editing of classical translations, the term of copyright for which has expired. By issuing her own translations, Irina Evsa took precisely those texts for the basis for which she would not face any penalty. ” [6]
