Kubiv, Stepan Ivanovich

In 1984 he graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics of Ivan Franko Lviv State University with a degree in mathematics, and a teacher of mathematics. In 2002 he graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Management of the National University of Lviv Polytechnic .

Candidate of Economic Sciences (2006), Associate Professor (2007). He has about 50 works in economics, marketing, banking and ecology, in particular: “Evaluation of a commercial bank in the concept of perfect attractiveness”, “Features of the use of direct and interactive marketing in Ukraine”, “Management of differentiation of banking services” and others ^[1] .

1983-1984 - laboratory assistant at the Department of Higher Mathematics of Lviv State University named after Ivan Franco.

1984-1990 - Secretary of the Komsomol Committee of the Lviv State University, Head of the Organizational Department, Head of the Department of Scientific and Student Youth of the Komsomol Regional Committee, Secretary of the Regional Coordinating Council of Scientific and Technical Creative Youth, Member of the Academic Council of LSU, Deputy Chairman of the Coordinating Council at the Lviv Regional Executive Committee for Scientific and Technical Issues creativity of youth, member of the revision committee of the Central Committee of Komsomol. From April 2006 to December 2012 - Member of the Lviv Regional Council. For the first time he ran on the list of Our Ukraine , the second time in October 2010 - already from the Front for Change. He held the position of Deputy Budget Commission.

Since 2008 - Associate Professor (part-time) of the National University "Lviv Polytechnic", Department of Marketing and Logistics.

He was a member of the Front for Change party since its inception, led its Lviv Regional Organization.

Since 2010, member of the Supervisory Board of Lviv Bank (two years).

In October 2010, he ran for mayor of the city of Lviv. He took fifth place, receiving more than 14 thousand votes.

Since December 12, 2012, the People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the VII convocation from the party All-Ukrainian Association "Fatherland" (passed under number 23 on the list). He was the head of the Lviv regional election headquarters. From the moment he was elected until February 2014, he served as Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Finance and Banking.

During mass anti-government protests in Ukraine in 2013-2014, Stepan Kubiv was the commandant of Euromaidan in Kiev .

Head of the NBU

From February 24 to June 19, 2014, the head of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) ^[2] . When it happened, the hryvnia devalued from 9 to 12 UAH / $. He resigned, which he explained by his desire to continue public political activity ^{[3] [4]} . Experts call its real reason the failure of negotiations with the IMF ^[5] .

In the Verkhovna Rada (2014)

In the Groisman Government

On April 14, 2016, the Second Government of Yatsenyuk, together with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, was dismissed. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted for the new government , which was headed by Groisman. In the new government of Ukraine, Stepan Kubiv took the post of First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Trade ^[7] .

He participated in the early parliamentary elections of 2019 from the European Solidarity Party (12th place on the party list ^[8] ).

Member of the Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, member of the board of the Association of Banks of Lviv region, member of the board of the Lviv Regional Association of Employers, co-founder of the NGO “King Danil Art Fund”, one of the organizers of the revival of the Rotary movement in Ukraine, ex-president of the Rotary Club “Lviv”, co-founder The Art Fund named after Daniil Galitsky .

Married, has a daughter. Life credo: “Business must be moral and socially responsible” . He is fond of football and mountain trips.
